Cosmos

In the Cosmos series, the apparent immobility of the artworks is but a promise of horizons, as observers are free to view and interpret in their own way. The warm light, the darkness home to imperceptible vibrations, could suggest the gravitational pull of planets or the violent burst of comets. Is it a thundershower that disrupts the calm water of a pond with rippling concentric circles? A sky dappled with clouds? Could the globes with unpredictable trajectories perhaps evoke a magical mashup? These iridescent blue spheres, with their perfect circumferences and their secret caverns and liquid rings that would fascinate any astrologist, could they not also be stars around which dances the dawning sun? They appear and could fade away into the immensity of the universe. But the painting holds them back. G.H
