Islands

Seen from above, here are isthmuses and mountains, dense woods, shapely forest edges and islets that appear to float. Islands seems to draw the maps and borders of an imaginary geography. Seen through a microscope, strange cells form clusters or reveal the traces of past centuries thought lost. Again, the movement provides countless experiences, weaves luxurious fabrics, crafts luminous diadems and boldly fills the space. Only the shadows, when they appear, give verticality to this geography that plays with its spectacle of illusion. You might also see the shifting of continents with diverse relief features: gradual retreats, inevitable collapses, conquering oceans. Orbiting around Earth, Jane encourages us to take care of our planet. Although the painting is silent, it still manages to speak. G.H
